I’m sad to say I haven’t gotten to observe spring in the Rockies, this year. A physically demanding garden centre job put hiking on hold for now, but I did manage to find images from previous years’ hikes to remind me of how beautiful and exciting it can be to come across the tiniest hints that spring is truly coming.
My wildflower and butterfly identification skills are sadly lacking – the only one in this set of sketches I know is the Venus’ Slipper, the lovely pink and yellow flowers you find in marshy areas.




Soon I hope to be back out in the mountains…
